Capoeira ist ein brasilianischer Kampftanz, der schon durch das bloße Zuschauen mitreißt. Tanz und Kampfelemente gehen Hand in Hand über mit Musik, Kultur und Folklore. Capoeira entstand in der Mitte des letzten Jahrhunderts und wurde von den afrikanischen Sklaven als Ausdruck gegen die Unterdrückung der brasilianischen Großgrundbesitzer und Feudalherren praktiziert. Der Workshop ist offen für Besucher aus aller Welt.

Theatergruppe, sondern um Jugendliche, die in einem Kinderheim in der Stadt Simoes Filho/Bahia aufgewachsen sind. Die Gruppe versteht sich als Nachkommen früherer Sklaven aus Afrika.

Die Rock’n’Roll-Band aus dem Raum Frankfurt ist noch eine der wenigen Musikgruppen, die mit authentischem Fats-Domino-Sound und entsprechender Stimme auftritt. Das Repertoire ist vielseitig: von Luis Prima bis Eric Clapton – von Fats Domino bis Santana, Ray Charles, Bobby Gentry u.v.m. Die fünf gefeilten Musiker, die sich 1994 zu dieser Besetzung formierten, haben allesamt jahrzehntelange Bühnenerfahrung.

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art, a vigorous dancing, that inspires by mere observation. Dance and fighting techniques combine with music, culture and folklore. Initially developed by the slaves of Africa, Capoeira was a way to resist their oppressors in the mid of the last century. This workshop is open for visitors from all over the world.

This is not a professional dancing or theatre group, these are youngster who grew up in a children’s home in the town Simoes Filho/Bahia. They consider themselves as descendants from the former slaves of Brazil.
